London Central Branch is working to improve communications with branch members. We’ve set up a group on Meetup.com, a social networking website with a specific focus on physical meetings. The site will let you know when meetings are on, what we’re planning to discuss and who’s going to be there.
The website also gives you the opportunity to have your say on meetings – you can rate past meetings and make suggestions about future ones. There is also a general discussion forum where you can talk about issues of relevance to the branch. The group is private, so only members will be able to see what’s going on.
If you’re worried about people knowing you’re in the union, you can sign up using an alias and no-one need know who you are.
So far, 65 people have joined the group, that’s only around 2% of the branch membership. Join up and get involved in the discussion and help make London Central the influential and important branch it should be.
Apologies if you’re one of the few who has already joined, but we want to encourage everyone else to join as well.
To join, just go to: http://www.meetup.com/London-Central-NUJ-Branch/ and sign up.
